Wife or Mistress

The day after Christmas 2018 I heard the Lord say, “I’m looking for a wife not a mistress!” Although I found this most disturbing I realize He was describing the overall state of the church. A mistress has an illicit love affair with a married man but never makes a commitment while a wife makes a vow of love.

A mistress is often referred to as a kept woman meaning that she receives gifts from her lover in exchange for uncommitted acts of lovemaking. The mistress likes it this way. She feels she can have her cake and eat it too. She can come and go as she desires and only needs to be available to pleasure her lover when the occasion arises. Her lover brings her nice gifts and makes sure she’s well taken care of in order to keep the affair quiet. Often times she is kept by several men, which requires some fancy maneuvering but she is wise and cunning. She plays the harlot.

She is also referred to as the other woman meaning that her lover will never leave his wife for her. Because the wife has made a vow of love to her husband he remains faithful to never leave her. His commitment is to her and the children she bore him. Although he continues to romance the mistress he will never leave his wife.

The story I’m trying to tell is this. God is looking for a wife not a mistress. He wants a bride that when she says, “I do” she means it. She’s willing to make a commitment to love, honor and obey Him no matter the circumstance. When times get tough she draws even nearer to Him and doesn’t look for a lover. He is her best friend and Comforter. She knows that He will never leave her nor forsake her. (Hebrews 13:5b) He blesses her with gifts beyond comparison and her children call her blessed. (Proverbs 31:28) Each day His wife grows more passionate toward Him and she can’t bear being separated from Him. Her whole life is to love and serve Him.

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  (Hebrews 13:4-5)

Oh yes the Lord loves the mistress too! He knows she is unfaithful yet pretends to love Him. She is self-absorbed and often times has many lovers. Some of her lovers are things of the world’s system while some are other religions therefore she’s unable to make a true commitment. She’s consumed by the things of the world and finds more pleasure in them than Him. But because He loves her He continues to give her gifts. However they are not as lavish as the gifts His wife receives.

America's Egg

Recently I had a dream where I was with a married couple and another man from Kiev. The man from Kiev had had a dream about America and wanted to tell me. Here’s the dream, it’s very short and colorful.

Hopelessness: The Silent Killer

Many times the Lord gives me with a prophetic phrase or caption that literally surprises me and causes me to ponder. Sometimes there’s a knowing in my spirit while other times I need to seek Him for understanding.
