1950’s Indy Style Race Cars

On the morning of February 20^thI had a very interesting dream. In this dream I’m a passenger in the car and my driver is taking me to the airport. As we’re coming around the bend of the road I can see that the airport’s runway had become a racetrack. It was a banked 2 ½ mile oval like the Indianapolis 500.

Lined up in a straight row near the fence coming into the fourth turn and facing the grandstand were six huge “1950’s Indy style racecars. These were brand new – never driven – high powered engine racecars; red, blue, yellow, green, orange and white. They were massive is size standing about 8 ft. tall and 12 ft. in length. Being an Indy-style car they had no roof. They were shined up slick and waiting to roll but there were no drivers.

I asked my driver about them. He didn’t even see them. There’s no way if you have sight that you could miss these cars. But you see his spiritual eyes had not yet been opened therefore he couldn’t see what was in plain sight. When he pulled around the corner to drop me off I realized I didn’t have any luggage. Or you could say baggage. You see we must get rid of any hindrance or baggage we have. In this next move of God we can’t bring them with us.

I looked to my left toward the racecars and to my surprise I saw thousands of people running on a separate track next to the racecars. This is the harvest! It looked like a foot race of mixed ages running hard coming into the fourth turn and on toward the finish line. Truth of the matter, they had just begun their race.

This is where the dream ended and I began seeking the Lord for more understanding. Notice the date February 20^th or 220, which to me represents POWER! I think the body of Christ has been running on 110 voltages. But with the vast harvest that’s quickly approaching they now require 220 power!

Then the Lord had me study John 4 about Jesus and the woman at the well. He offered her living water and she came to the revelation that He was the Christ. And in her excitement she ran back to her city and evangelized everyone. In the meantime the disciples return to Jesus bringing Him food. They’re amazed that He would be found talking to a Samaritan woman. Needless to say He refused the food and claims to have food they know not of. What? His nourishment is to do the will of the Father and to finish His work. Is that not what we are doing today? Being nourished by doing the will of the Father and completing the tasks He’s called us to do? (John 4:34)

Then Jesus makes an amazing statement saying,^“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest. And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.  For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’  I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” (John 4:34-38)

And this is where we are today. There is no delay; the fields are ready for harvesting. Jesus was instructing them to turn their heads and look! Open your spiritual eyes and see the harvest is at hand. What did they see? All the people from Samaria who the woman evangelized. They began running their race and coming to meet their Messiah. In the natural it was another four months until harvest time. But Jesus said the time has now come, the harvest is ready.

Reaping the Harvest

Here’s the good news for us today, we get to reap a harvest that we did not labor for. How can that be you ask? Every Christian who has gone on before us sowed into the harvest and we are now the reapers. We can now enter into the labors of Jesus, Paul, Peter and John. And in more recent days we enter the fields of Charles Finney, John G. Lake, William Seymour, Billy Graham and William Branham to name a few. Personally I’ve entered into the harvest field of Bob and Viola Jones. This great harvest is a culmination of all the seeds sown throughout the ages and it’s available for everyone.

In Matthew 9:37 Jesus said, the harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. I can see this is true in the dream if you compare the number of the racecars to the amount of runners. Therefore we must pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. (Matthew 9:38) 

The racecars in this dream were 1950’s models and refer to Christians born in that era. We call ourselves the “Baby Boomers” and this is our greatest hour to arise and shine because our light has definitely come. (Isaiah 60:1) And the glory of God is shining on His boomers so we must go forth into the harvest field. You see these racecars need drivers and you have been well equipped. The engines are super charged and waiting for you to take the wheel. There’s no roof because there’s an open heaven and you have unlimited power and possibilities.

There were young and old alike in this foot race but they need disciplining and you are just the ones to do it. Baby Boomers spent many years allowing God to refine them in His fire by stripping away hurts, pain, failure and insecurities. He’s transformed them by His love and filled them with truth, mercy, grace, faith and joy. Now it’s their time to go forth and not only bring in the harvest but disciple them so they in turn disciple others.

Who is willing to carry the flame to ignite the fire in the temple?

Let me add one thing. On the evening of 2/20 as I was reading the Word the Lord asked me a question. He said, “The glory rests upon the body of believers. Who is willing to carry the flame to ignite the fire in the temple? Holy Spirit has breathed upon my body and delivered her out of darkness into my glorious light. Who, I say who is willing to carry the flame to light the fire? I am the eternal flame. I am the Light of the world (John 8:12) and I have sent my angels to ignite fires around the world. Some are oblivious to their presence while others embrace them. But my bride is awakening from her slumber and standing to her feet. She’s going to do an about face and when she does she will encounter her first love.”

Clearly the Lord is looking for those who are willing to carry the flame of His holy fire to ignite a burning in the temple of these new converts. For their body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, it is no longer their own. (1 Corinthians 6:19) And at the end of the age the Lord will send out His angels to remove all things that offend or oppose the word of God.

The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! (Matthew 13:41-43)

Therefore evangelism will be easy because angels have prepared the way. So get ready to labor with them in ministry as they heed the voice of His word. By this I mean, as you agree with God in prayer and release His word, they accomplish the word in power.

Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. (Psalm 103:20)

Get ready to run the race with joy says the Lord. Run with full steam ahead and never look back. Looking back causes you to turn your head and focus on the past. This can quickly and easily get you off course. And once off course it’s easy to be led astray. We’re all in this kingdom race together so let’s run it to finish the task God has called us to and ignite fires along the way.

And to the Baby Boomers I will say; “Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! Your race has just begun!”
