Emphasis On Praise

Closing out this year the Lord indicated to me His emphasis on praise. Many of His love songs have been turned to ones of lustful desire.In other words His music has been distorted! All lyrics are created in heaven but coming down through the second heaven Satan intervenes. Love songs of holy passion He’s written for the bride, Satan perverted to lure her into bedroom brothels and barroom brawls. Bob called it the love of gold, glory and girls. Through Satan’s deception many have fallen into the trap of the world’s counterfeit music therefore taking their eyes off of Him. I believe the Lord is going to turn it all around. Oh yes the counterfeit will still be there however the heart of mankind is going to change dramatically and the lust of the flesh will fizzle and die.

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world (1 John 2:16).

Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

Recently in the spirit I heard “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.” I knew it was a Beatles song and later the title of a musical. So I watched the movie to understand what the Lord was teaching me through it. Although I normally don’t like musicals, I found this to be quite interesting and very prophetic. Peter Frampton (Billy) and the Bee Gee’s (the new band) play the leading roles. George Burns is the narrator and plays the part of the mayor Mr. Kite. If you remember from years ago George Burns played God in the movie “Oh God” and I kept this in mind while watching. After all he is the only voice that speaks throughout the movie.The setting is a town named Heartland where this transformational movie begins and ends. Throughout the story you witness the hand of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, the working of the enemy and how truelove prevails.

As it begins Sgt. Pepper is the conductor of the Lonely Hearts Club Band. The music they play brings love, hope and prosperity wherever they went. In fact it stopped the troops fighting during World War I. In August 1958, while performing during the unveiling of a new weathervane made in his likeness and given in his honor, Sgt. Pepper died. The magical musical instruments were given to the town of Heartland so the people would live happily ever after. They were placed in City Hall which doubles as the museum for the instruments. The mayor is the overseer that keeps them safe and sound under lock and key. 

Sgt. Pepper’s legacy was left to his young good-hearted grandson Billy. Twenty years later Billy formed a new band with three brothers Mark, Dave and Bob. Billy’s half-brother Doug became the manager. The new Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band carried on the tradition of the late grandfather. They were very successful and Heartland remained prosperous. 

Leaving True Love Behind

However when Big Deal records got wind of their success they offered them a deal they couldn’t refuse. But it meant they had to leave Heartland and go to Hollywood. Leaving the magical instruments in the mayor’s safe keeping Billy left his truelove Strawberry and they headed off to Hollywood. It was there they were introduced to drugs, sex and alcohol. Truly in a blink of an eye there was a loss of innocence and true love. It’s just like the enemy to entice us with a deal too good to refuse. Too often Christians don’t count the cost and follow a delusion instead of the Truth therefore leaving their first love Jesus behind.

While the band members are traveling and performing becoming very successful and wealthy, the enemy comes to Heartland to steal the magical instruments. The instruments represent the gifts of the Spirit. In the same way when the enemy leads us astray, he comes to steal the anointing. Although the instruments were being held in a safe place the enemy was able to penetrate because the town’s defenses were down. Once the magical instruments were stolen Heartland began to degenerate and the town was corrupted. In the same way Christians begin to spiritually collapse when they stop the flow of the Holy Spirit’s gifts. Without the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8-10) we are destined to fail. 

After a while, Strawberry leaves Heartland for Hollywood. She knows the town will be saved if she can persuade Billy to return. But the enemy fell in love with Strawberry and followed her. When Billy comes to his senses the band and Strawberry steal the enemy’s van to locate the stolen instruments. In the same way we must retrieve from the enemy the gifts he has stolen from the body of Christ. Although often times Christians go astray God never stops loving them and just like Strawberry pursued Billy, the Lord never leaves us nor forsakes us. He will only let us go so far until He begins to woo us back to Him. He outstretches His arm but we must be willing to take hold and walk with Him into our destiny. Sometimes it takes a complete turn around through repentance and recommitment. But He never gives up on us.

Recovering the Gifts

They recovered the coronet from the anti-aging specialist. He represents vanity and lust for money. They recovered the tuba from father-son. He was a mind controlling cult leader. Clearly the enemy intends to steal our mind and thoughts to lead us down the wrong path. They also recovered the drum that was hidden in the enemy’s van. We must walk to the beat of the Father’s heart. But the computer malfunctions before they can locate the final missing instrument – the saxophone. So it remains in the hands of the enemy, but only temporarily.

The scene now changes as they return to Heartland where the city is still deteriorating because the magical instruments and the band are gone. The band’s manager Doug convinces them to organize a benefit concert to save the town. However he and his girlfriend, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, plan to steal the proceeds. Together they represent greed and lust for money. They hide the money in the van where unknowingly the enemy has kidnapped Strawberry.

The Enemy’s Plan

The enemy drives to the headquarters of the future villain band. Their plan is to take over the world. He states that, “They are the evil force that would poison young minds, pollute the environment and subvert the democratic process.” So their plan is to overthrow the foundation by perversion, corruption and undermining morals and faith.

During the benefit Earth, Wind and Fire are on stage performing. The enemy has tied up Strawberry on stage with the hopes of turning her into a mindless groupie. In the process of the performance Billy and the band engage in hand-to-hand combat with the enemy. In the same way we must do battle in the spirit combating the forces of evil. All the cards were stacked against Billy and the band. The enemy plans to overtake the world and Strawberry is a pawn. During the process of warfare the lead singer and Strawberry fall from the stage and both of them die. Often times when we let our guard down the enemy defeats us. And it begins with our thoughts. If he can get you to agree with him by controlling your thoughts, your heart will follow. We must always keep our thoughts on Christ the solid Rock of our Salvation and bring them into obedience to Him.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10:4-6)

Transformation In Heartland 

Now there’s good news! The enemy is defeated, the town of Heartland is restored and the instruments returned to the museum. The Sgt. Pepper weather vane atop City Hall comes to life wielding magical lightning bolts. Strawberry is restored to life and embraces Billy. Sgt. Pepper dances through the town square transforming the evil villains into a bishop and a monk and Doug and Lucy are transformed into a priest and a nun. The Lonely Hearts Club Band members mourning clothes are transformed into shiny new uniforms and they are ready to once again perform in the thriving town of Heartland. 

Clearly Sgt. Pepper represents the Holy Spirit coming in power. There is resurrection life and evidence that what the enemy meant for evil God turned for good. The villains as well as Doug and Lucy now walk in the destiny God called them to instead of the perversion of the enemy. The band is given holy garments of praise as their mourning was turned to joy. Redemption, resurrection, transformation and holy garments of praise are expressed in the end of this movie.

To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:3)

It’s easy to see how the enemy has distorted music and continues to entice the youth drawing them into fantasy, drugs and sexual perversion. Strawberry represents the Lord and like so many Christians leaves their first love to find pleasure in the world. But the Lord continues to pursue us with an unconditional love. 

The Lord’s Plan For Worship

I believe the Lord is coming to establish His worship in the earth through the voices of the saints. “Let the redeemed of the Lord, say so!” (Psalm 107:2)  I believe we must always battle against the works of darkness. When we let our guard down the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10a) That was evident in this movie. The Lord did not stop the enemy from stealing the gifts just like He won’t stop him from stealing them from the saints. Christians must stand on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ and remain true to their First Love. The enemy will offer a big deal, that’s usually money related, to entice us.  That’s why we need the gifts of wisdom and discernment and the Word of God hidden deep within our heart. These things will keep a Christian on the highway of holiness. (Isaiah 35)

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy. (Psalm 107:2)

There are new lyrics being released from heaven. They were written long ago and held in the hand of God until now! The Father is looking for the faithful few to release these treasures through. These lyrics will shoot through the second heaven like a fiery arrow that the enemy cannot touch nor pervert. And when the sound is released through faithful saints, it will penetrate the heart of the unsaved as well as turning the backslidden to God. There is acceleration in the Spirit now and the forging of the Lord’s worship taking place. 

Get ready to see salvation on a grand scale, as God’s worship takes on a new dimension in holy worship from the throne of God. God is looking for those who will worship from His perspective glorifying His Son, instead of entertaining man from men’s perspective. It’s a holy matrimony of abandoned love to the Lord from the heart of God flowing through the heart of the saints. Like David abandon his heart to God, so will the new worshipers abandon theirs in this day. 

Heart of David Restored

Get ready as the true heart of David is restored to the body of Christ. And get ready to see whole cities and regions transformed through the faithfulness of the saints as they band together and exercise spiritual gifts. I believe Christians are tired of being defeated by the wiles of the enemy. No longer are they going to cower under pressure, they are ready to stand (Ephesians 6:10-11) and declare the victory of the cross not letting the enemy steal their inheritance any longer. “Long live the King!” they shall shout as they declare victory for King Jesus.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10-11)
