SEEDS OF HARVEST

The Yellow School Bus

Recently I had a vision of a large yellow school bus parked in front of a church that is dedicated to preparing the bride for the coming of the Lord. Although this church moves mightily in the gifts it remains humble before the Lord. They are not well known in charismatic circles nor are they well known in the community, however they are seated near the throne of the Father. They have attained understanding of the Father’s desire for the bride His Son longs to return for.

Looking carefully at the parked school bus I realized Holy Spirit was behind the steering wheel. This current move of God must be motivated and directed by the Holy Spirit or it’s not going to work. The Father is looking for a bride who has prepared herself in holy array. She speaks words of wisdom not words that flatter. She walks humbly before Him never compromising to please man and resists the enemy at every corner. Because Holy Spirit leads them they will not get off course or get lost in the direction in this movement.

Two thirds of the bus was occupied with well-equipped students. Each one had been well trained and equipped for defeating the enemy. The remaining third of the bus was filled with bags of seed. The bride will not yield to the evil one because she’s already surrendered her life to Christ. He is her sustenance and her desire is toward her Beloved.

I believe the bags of seeds indicate the coming harvest because the harvest is plentiful. Jesus said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38) If you take into account that a large school bus seats 90 passengers then I would say that only 60 seats were occupied in this vision leaving 1/3 of the bus filled with seed bags. But can you imagine the number of seeds in each bag? Thousands upon thousands! Therefore I believe this scripture applies. Look at the yield from the small amount of laborers! Can you imagine the yield if the laborers were more plentiful?

Follow Me!

When Jesus called His disciples He spoke with authority, He said, “Follow Me!”  And they did. Without hesitation they dropped everything and followed after Him. The question His disciples are asking today is, “Will you follow Him? Are you willing to lay everything aside and follow the One who died for you? There is only one path that leads to life eternal and it is through salvation in Christ Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

I believe this vision indicates the great harvest of souls taking place in our nation and around the world. Each passenger represents a disciple who’s been prepared as a bride. The bags full of seeds are indicative of souls won for Christ. Part of our discipleship today is preparing the body to become the bride of Christ. The Lord is returning for a bride who has prepared herself in Him. I’m not talking about being prepared in religion; no I’m talking about relationship with the Son of God. So here are the questions He’s asking; are you willing to follow Him? Are you willing to be a disciple for Christ? Are you ready to help save the lost and teach them how to become a bride of Christ?

Are You Ready?

Remember the ten virgins? Only half of them were prepared when the Bridegroom came knocking at the door. Today the Lord is knocking at the door of our heart and asking His people to “Follow Him!” Follow Him into the bridal chamber of His heart for intimacy with Him. I am not diminishing salvation in any way – please don’t take it wrong. We definitely need salvation but we must teach others how to prepare their oil and be ready as a bride for Christ’ return.

There were ten virgins who were robed in their finest garments and smothered in the most fragrant oils of the day. Despite their excitement and anticipation they all grew weary awaiting the arrival of the Bridegroom. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. (Matthew 25:5) None of them could stay awake. Much of the church has fallen asleep as well. And this is nothing new. I believe there’s only a remnant from each generation that remains alert. Jesus told His disciples to “watch and pray” so they didn’t enter into temptation (Luke 22:40) before He entered Gethsemane to pray. Then he told them to rise and pray because it was time for them to stand to their feet and take possession.

At midnight when the Bridegroom came all the virgins arose from their slumber but only five were prepared to go with Him. The five foolish virgins ran around wondering what to do and trying to borrow the anointing oil from the wise ones. The bride must be prepared at all times while waiting for her Beloved’s return.  1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 says it best. The bride of Christ is sons and daughters of light not darkness. We are called to rest in the Lord but not be asleep. Even in our night season those who are led by the Spirit hear His voice and obey. If the body of Christ remains in spiritual immaturity darkness will overtake it (verse 4) and like the five foolish virgins miss their divine appointment with the Bridegroom.

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
